Crispy, golden shrimp marinated in buttermilk and coated in smoky-seasoned flour, fried to perfection, and drizzled with fiery hot honey glaze. A quick, indulgent dish ready in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

1 pound large shrimp (thawed, peeled, deveined, tail-on)
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon kosher salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
½ cup hot honey glaze
2 cups vegetable oil (for frying)
Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Combine shrimp in a bowl with buttermilk and spices; marinate for 15 minutes.
In a separate bowl, mix flour with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne.
Heat oil in a deep pot to 350°F. Dredge shrimp in flour mixture, shaking off excess.
Fry in batches for 2-3 minutes until golden. Drain on paper towels.
Drizzle with hot honey glaze, garnish with parsley, and serve.

Notes

Use a thermometer to maintain consistent oil temperature.
Tail-on shrimp are optional, but help hold honey glaze.
Store leftover shrimp in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
Try with garlic aioli or zucchini fries as a side.
