Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough (8 biscuits)

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon (about 5–7 minutes).

3. Add the diced onion and bell pepper to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables are tender, about 3–5 minutes.

4. Stir in the tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.

5. Transfer the beef mixture into a 9×13-inch casserole dish and spread it evenly.

6. Cut each biscuit from the can into four pieces and arrange them evenly over the beef mixture.

7. Sprinkle shredded cheese over the top of the biscuits.

8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.

9. Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Add chopped mushrooms, zucchini, or other vegetables to the beef mixture for extra nutrition.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
  • Serve with a green salad or coleslaw for a complete meal.
