This easy Million Dollar Chicken Casserole is the best chicken casserole ever—rich, creamy shredded chicken topped with a buttery cracker crust for the ultimate comfort meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (10.5 ounce) can cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 4 cups cooked, shredded chicken
  • 1 sleeve Ritz crackers (about 32 crackers), crushed
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and lightly grease a 9×9 inch baking dish.

2. In a large mixing bowl, combine cream of chicken soup, sour cream, softened cream cheese, cottage cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, dried parsley, salt, and black pepper. Stir until smooth and well combined.

3. Add shredded cooked chicken to the creamy mixture and stir until evenly coated.

4. Spread the chicken mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.

5. In a separate bowl, combine crushed Ritz crackers with melted butter and mix until the crackers are fully coated.

6. Sprinkle the buttery cracker mixture evenly over the top of the casserole.

7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the cracker topping is golden brown.

8. Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Instead of Ritz crackers, try topping with corn flakes, saltines, or other crushed crackers.
  • Add cooked bacon or frozen mixed vegetables for a flavorful twist.
  • Shred chicken into bite-sized pieces for the perfect texture.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
