Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1⁄4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1⁄4 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1⁄4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Tzatziki Sauce:
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1⁄2 cup grated cucumber, excess water squeezed out
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh mint, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1⁄4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, feta cheese, parsley, garlic, oregano, cumin, salt, and pepper.

3. Add the egg and mix until all the ingredients are well incorporated, but do not overmix.

4. Form the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them on the prepared baking sheet.

5. Drizzle the olive oil over the meatballs to help them brown.

6. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the meatballs are golden brown and cooked through.

7. While the meatballs are baking, prepare the tzatziki sauce by combining the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, lemon juice, dill, mint, garlic, and salt in a bowl. Mix well.

8. Serve the meatballs warm with a generous side of tzatziki sauce for dipping.

Notes

These meatballs can be made ahead and frozen for up to 3 months. Bake directly from frozen, adding 5–10 minutes to the cook time. For a gluten-free version, substitute breadcrumbs with gluten-free breadcrumbs or almond flour. Add red pepper flakes for heat or more lemon juice for extra zing in the tzatziki.
