A hearty and comforting one-skillet meal, Ground Beef and Potatoes combines savory beef, tender potatoes, and melted cheddar cheese for a delicious dinner the whole family will love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 3 large potatoes (peeled and diced)
  • 1 onion (diced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley (chopped)

Instructions

1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it into crumbles as it cooks. Drain any excess fat and return the beef to the skillet.

2. Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet with the beef. Cook for about 3-4 minutes, or until the onion becomes translucent and fragrant.

3. Stir in the diced potatoes, beef broth, paprika, thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine all the ingredients. Cover the skillet with a lid and let the mixture simmer over medium-low heat for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the potatoes are tender and fully cooked.

4. Once the potatoes are cooked through, sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top. Cover the skillet again for a few minutes, allowing the cheese to melt.

5. Sprinkle the dish with freshly chopped parsley before serving. This step adds a burst of color and freshness to the dish. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

Cut Uniform Potatoes: Dice the potatoes into even-sized pieces to ensure they cook evenly.

Don’t Skip the Cover: Covering the skillet while simmering helps the potatoes cook faster and absorb the flavorful broth.

Use Fresh Cheese: Grate the cheese yourself for the best melting texture and flavor.

Add a Kick: If you like spice, throw in a pinch of cayenne pepper or red chili flakes.
