Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless ribeye or sirloin steaks (1-inch thick)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika (optional, for added depth)
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter (for finishing)
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh rosemary or thyme (optional garnish)

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Let it heat for 3–5 minutes for optimal searing.
  • Dry the steaks thoroughly with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  • Rub olive oil over both sides of the steaks.
  • Season evenly with sea salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika (if using).
  • Place the steaks in the air fryer basket in a single layer, with space around each for airflow.
  • Air fry at 400°F for 8–12 minutes, flipping halfway through:

– Rare: 6–7 minutes

– Medium-rare: 8 minutes

– Medium: 9–10 minutes

– Medium-well: 11 minutes

– Well-done: 12–13 minutes

  • Remove the steaks and let them rest on a plate, covered loosely with foil, for 5 minutes.
  • Top with butter and a sprinkle of fresh herbs.
  • Slice against the grain and serve with your favorite sides.

Notes

  • For the best crust, make sure your steaks are dry before seasoning.
  • A meat thermometer is your best friend—aim for 130–135°F for medium-rare.
  • Pairs beautifully with mashed potatoes, roasted veggies, or braised cabbage.
