Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 jumbo pasta shells
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 ounces fresh spinach, chopped
  • 8 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup cooked shrimp, chopped
  • 1 cup cooked crab meat
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.

2. Cook the jumbo pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté the chopped onion and garlic for 3–4 minutes until translucent.

4. Add the chopped spinach and cook until wilted, about 2 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

5. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, cream cheese, shrimp, crab meat, half of the mozzarella, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir in the cooled spinach mixture until well combined.

6. Spread half of the marinara sauce in the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.

7. Stuff each cooked shell with the seafood mixture and arrange in the baking dish.

8. Top with remaining marinara sauce, sprinkle with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.

9. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 10 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.

10. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add fresh herbs like parsley or dill to the seafood mixture.

Substitute cooked chicken or sautéed vegetables for the seafood if desired.

For added texture, sprinkle breadcrumbs on top before the final 10 minutes of baking.
