A comforting and rich bisque filled with tender crab and shrimp, perfect for special occasions or cozy family dinners.

  • 1 pound crab meat (use fresh or high-quality frozen crab)
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
  • 3 cups seafood stock (or fish stock)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

1. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat.

2. Add onion and garlic; sauté until soft.

3. Stir in diced tomatoes and Old Bay seasoning, cooking for another 2-3 minutes.

4. Pour in the seafood stock and bring to a simmer.

5. Add crab meat and shrimp; gently stir and cook until shrimp are pink and cooked through, about 5 minutes.

6. Lower the heat and stir in heavy cream, simmering for an additional 5 minutes.

7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

8. Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.

Notes

Let leftover bisque cool before storing in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Reheat gently over low heat to avoid overcooking the shrimp.

Serve with crusty bread or oyster crackers for a complete meal.
