This creamy shrimp soup is a comforting and flavorful dish featuring tender shrimp in a rich, seasoned broth. It’s easy to make and perfect for a quick yet cozy dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 cups broth (seafood or chicken)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions

1. In a soup pot or Dutch oven, heat butter and olive oil over medium heat. Sauté the chopped onion until soft, about 3-4 minutes.

2. Add minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.

3. Pour in the broth and bring to a simmer. Let it cook for 5-7 minutes to develop flavor.

4. Add the shrimp to the pot and cook until they turn pink and are cooked through, about 3-4 minutes.

5. Reduce heat to low. Stir in the heavy cream, paprika, salt, pepper, and lemon juice.

6. Simmer for another 3-5 minutes until the soup is creamy and heated through.

7. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve hot.
