Ingredients

Scale
  • 23 pounds hamburger (or ground turkey)
  • 1 head of cabbage, chopped
  • 2 cups celery, diced
  • 2 cups white or yellow onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 23 cloves garlic, minced
  • 56 cups beef broth
  • 2 (14 oz) cans diced tomatoes with basil, oregano, and garlic
  • 2 teaspoons oregano
  • 2 teaspoons basil
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Black pepper to taste
  • ½ teaspoon salt (optional)

Instructions

1. Cook the hamburger in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain any excess grease.

2. Add cooked hamburger, cabbage, celery, onion, bell pepper, and garlic to a crock pot.

3. Pour in beef broth and diced tomatoes with juices.

4. Sprinkle in oregano, basil, red pepper flakes, black pepper, and optional salt. Stir well.

5. Set the slow cooker to high for 5–6 hours or low for 6–8 hours. Stir occasionally.

6. Once vegetables are tender and flavors are well combined, serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

Swap ground beef with turkey or plant-based meat for a lighter or vegetarian option.

Customize with extra vegetables like carrots or zucchini.

Add a spicy kick with more red pepper flakes or hot sauce.
